送料は、発送したときに、私がきちんと払いました。
日本からイギリスに発送しましたので、送料とは別に、おそらく、関税を請求されたのだと思います。
関税は、世界中共通で、受け取り側が支払う事になっていてどうしようもありません。

I certainly paid for the shipping when I sent you the item.
I think they charged customs duty as it was sent from Japan to UK, not the delivery charge.
Customs duty is something a recipient of an item has to pay all over the world, so there's nothing you can do about it.
