でもあなたの言う通り誰も死亡者が出なかったことは本当に奇跡だと思います。私が地震の事を知ったのは月曜日でした。いつもならインターネットで見て見逃さないニュージーランドの情報なのに2日間もこんな大きなことを知らずにいました。もっと早く知っていれば彼女に電話をして無事なことを確認する時に声が聞けたのに、もっと早くニュージーランドに行っていれば...そんなことを考えています。二人の無事ももっと早く確認できたのに私はとても怠慢でした。今はネットで情報収集して状況がわかってきました。

Though, as you said it must have been some miracle happened that nobody died at the earthquake. It was Monday that I found out about the earthquake. I hadn`t known such a big news though I always check the informations about New Zealand on the internet. I could have called her and listen to her voice to confirm if she`s alright, or if I had flown to New Zealand ealier... I`ve been spending time thinking of such things. If I weren`t this lazy I could have found out much earlier that you two were OK. Now I`m getting to understand the situation by gathering informations using the internet.
