How the idea came about:

The idea behind bootstrapped startup ArtKred.com started when one of the co-founders, Spencer, received a gift from a friend who travelled to Europe- an art print in a nice pizza box. That gift inspired him to find out more about the arts industry that was something rather foreign to him until then. The ArtKred crew set out in the middle of last year wanting to create a platform that will serve the needs of artists in Asia and art lovers around the world.

このアイディアはどこからやってきたのか

自己資本のみのスタートアップArtKred.comの柱となるこのアイディアは、共同創業者の1人であるSpencerがヨーロッパ旅行へ行った友達からすてきなピザボックスに入った版画作品をおみやげにもらった際に浮かんだのだった。この贈り物のおかげで、それまでは彼にとってどちらかというと無縁であったアート業界についてもっと調べようという気になったのだ。ArtKredのメンバーは昨年の中頃、アジアのアーティストと世界中のアート愛好家の必要に応えるためのプラットフォームを作ることに取り組み始めた。
