HI：そうとも言えるのではないでしょうか。私は写真家として武道やスポーツに関わることもあります。しかしながら、その競技を行うときの様子が伝統的なものだからといって、正確に伝統が継承されているとは限らないと思います。
FD：もう一度、撮影方法のお話に戻ります。被写体に対する自然光の複雑さはどのようにして調整することができるのですか。

FD: Could that also be said in a martial arts context like for kendo or iaido?
HI: I suppose you couldn't not say that. As a photographer I am sometimes influenced by martial arts or sports. However, I think that just because the appearance of those matches are steeped in tradition doesn't mean that they are inherently traditional.
FD: I'd like to go back to talking about your photography method once more. How are you able to control the complexity of the natural light in your subjects?
HI: That is something that comes from the power of amazing master teachers and Rembrandt paintings.
