旧大越娯楽場

日本を代表する建築学者 今 和次郎 設計の1926年に建築されました。
繭やたばこの共同出荷場に使用され、出荷がない時期になると村民のための娯楽施設として、
映画や演劇などが上演されていました。
1950年に大越町の所有になり、1975年には武道館となって現在に至る。
建築当時の姿をよく保ち、数少ない今 和次郎の作品として貴重な建築です。

Former Ogoshi Recreation Area

Built by one of Japan's famous architects, Kon Wajiro, it was built in 1926.
Used as a common shipping site for silk cocoons and cigarettes, during the seasons where there was nothing to ship, it screened movies and plays as a recreational area for villagers.
It was owned by Ogoshi town in 1950 and became the Budokan in 1975 until today.
Having preserved its original appearance well, it is now a valuable piece of the few architectures done by Kon Wajiro.
