高知から車で三時間。東京からだと半日はかかるところに、道の駅「四万十とおわ」がある。この日本の最果てにある道の駅を目的地にわざわざ人がやってくるのだ。

3 hours by car from Kochi. Shimanto Toowa Rest Stop is about half a day's drive if you're coming from Tokyo. People come all the way to these rest stations on the furthest ends of Japan.

When you come here, it makes you want to go buy a lot of things. There's so many souvenirs that make you want to bring home a piece of the Shimanto River scenery.
