As a translator, my job is to make sure that your message is understood by your target market.
My expertise is built on years of hands-on experience; I lived and worked in France for 17 years and am familiar with the ins and outs of the French language, culture and customs. The end result is a translation that reflects the style, tone and message of the source text, while taking into account the specific characteristics of the target market.

I have been working as a freelance French into English translator since July 2000. Prior to that I gained two years’ in-house experience, first with a toll collection systems manufacturer and then with a pharmaceutical company.
I have split my career between France and the UK, which has given me an excellent understanding of the French language, culture and customs.

My experience
Languages are full of nuances that only a professional, experienced translator can spot. Many people think that because they can read and speak a language they can translate their documents themselves. Not true. It takes many years of study and practice to achieve the required level of knowledge and skill. Not only have I been translating for over 20 years, but I also lived and worked in France for 17 years, which gives me the edge when it comes to understanding the deeper and more complex meanings of a text.
