About This Service
In parallel to the activity of journalism, worked many years as a translator (English and French to portuguese), translating journalistic articles (mainly for communication agencies). Nowadays I continue in the communication area and also I do several tasks related with translation, again journalistic articles but also communication consulting ( for companies to promote themselves, for example ) and even academic studies that has to be bilingual (from English to Portuguese and reverse). And I really like to do this kind of challenges. My skills in writing are for sure an asset in this kind of tasks, and always have to develop my profession not only in Portuguese but also in English. Working as a freelancer and travelling a lot... this kind of job fits perfectly in my professional activity. And of course taking some financial advantage of a long experience in writing, communications and translating. Really motivated, because I really like what I do and being my own boss. And this is one more challenge!
What You Can Expect
I think I already gave some light about what I can accomplish in my description. As a freelancer in communications (specially in consulting communications nowadays but also in writing - already participated in the writing of contents for books, mainly related with gastronomy traditions in Portugal), I also do some translations related with my area, specially from English to Portuguese, concerning a wide range of themes). It is not my main job, I do it because I have the experience doing also these tasks, so I am not a professional translator with a degree. This is a chance to have some more financial reward and also to do something I always liked.

My long experience as a journalist in Portugal can be divided into several areas within the press, at national and regional level. Also, I have experience as editor and coordinator of some Portuguese publications.
The area of communication is vast and nowadays I work has a freelancer in this area. During my career I also worked as a translator, mainly translating journalistic articles from English to Portuguese, to be published in Portuguese media. These tasks also included translating from my native language to English one - many different contents. I continue to do some translating, and... why not take the chance you offer me.
High ability to communicate orally and written, in my native language, of course, and fluent in English - that was always a needed language in my profession -, general knowledge above average, very organized, good computer skills.
Versatility is a skill that I possess due to the extensive experience as a journalist. I am committed to add new learning professionally, as well as motivated by the opportunity of doing more in a area I always liked and have some experience on - translation.
