Recently, rumor has it that Tencent is about to launch its own express deliver service QQ Sudi (or QQ Express) to provide Chinese etailers with logistics service. A recent report says that logistics has accounted for a large chunk of Chinese etailers’ operational costs.

Path Gets Cloned Again in China, But With a Focus on Following Celebrities

The American social network Path has got itself another Chinese clone. This new imposter is called Daka, which has made a pixel-perfect copy of the Path app in its own app for iPhone and Android.

Daka differentiates itself in two somewhat surprising ways: it focuses on a number of celebrities who have been drafted in to join Daka; and it’s made by LeTV, a fairly big Chinese video-streaming site, not by a random startup.

Always in Search of Ad Clicks, Qihoo Invests in Online Gaming Portal

It has been revealed by an executive at Qihoo 360 (NYSE:QIHU), the Chinese web portal and anti-virus vendor, that the company has invested in the gaming news site 2366.com. Since the exec in question, Qihoo’s Guo Haibin, is now installed as the VP at 2366, it seems that a majority stake – or a total buy-out – has occurred. Mr. Guo said that the deal happened back in August of last year, but has been made public only this week. The financial details of the deal have not been revealed.

There are probably some apps for that, but why bother when you can get it done professionally for you right there in the market?

It has also implemented a similar solution in the country. Elsewhere in Singapore, there is Swiff, which is perhaps closer to Square’s mobile payment solution. Swiff also works as an add-on to a smartphone via its audio port and mobile app. When we questioned the maker of Swiff, SCCP, it denied that it had copied the Square idea, as it claimed that the R&D began more than a year ago. But a representative did admit that Square was the first to bring this mobile payment solution to the market.

Alipay states that 70 percent of the transaction volume, excluding Tmall, is paid at the time of delivery. And most of these payments are made in cash.
