Actually, debates over the intended meanings of this "Faust" have raged since it surprised observers by winning the Golden Lion at Venice in 2011, dividing cinephiles into camps of ardent admirers and dismissive detractors. Indeed, compared to many Sokurov films, this one has an enlivening paradoxicality: it's morbid but upbeat, grim yet rapturous. With its constant motion and elegant reframings, the camera gives the proceedings an almost balletic breathlessness, while painterly influences—chiefly Bosch and Brueghel—infuse the film's succession of ornate sets (suggesting 19th century Germany, though no epoch is specified) and anchor a muted but wondrously subtle palette of grays, greens and browns.

Is it wrong, is it bourgeois reactionary thinking, to desire a safe and happy life for your family? To want to do a job well and be rewarded for it? Not at all. These are universal hopes, and throughout "The Blue Kite" we can see characters seeking them. An old mother sips her tea and states that she is beyond politics--"too old for it." And there is a poignant scene when the army brother, who has left the service because of bad eyes, goes for a last visit to his girlfriend, who is still in uniform. She advises him to forget her, because she will be where she is for a long, long time. (There is an echo here of Ha Jin's stories about romance and marriage put on hold for long years by duties to the state.)

هل من الخطأ وهل هو تفكير رجعي بأن ترغب لعائلتك الامان والسعادة؟ بأن تعمل عملا صالحا وتنتظر مكافأة على عملك ؟ كلا مطلقا . انها امال الجميع , ومن خلال ( الطائرة الورقية الزرقاء ( نستطيع ان نرى الممثلين الذين يسعون لتحقيق تلك الفكرة .

وهناك مشهد مؤثر اخر لاحد الاخوين الذي ترك الخدمة بسبب نظره الضعيف, حيث يذهب لزيارة صديقته والتي لازالت في الخدمة . حيث تنصحه بأن ينساها لان عملها يتطلب منها العمل في مكان بعيد و لوقت طوبل جدا .
