I am a registered nurse with experience as a medical interpreter. The body of my experience has been working with overseas medical professionals whom have come to Japan to learn our standard operating procedures and techniques.
As a volunteer I have extensive experience supporting the local international community with daily living tasks in Japan; internet, phone, licence applications, advocacy, etc.
At University I studied medical and technical English as part of my elective study. After having gained the necessary experience working as a nurse I furthered my English studies in the United States at Seattle Central College.
I have limited experience in paper translation and want to develop a broad skill set. My obvious strength would be medical, but I have interest in many areas. Including but not limited to food and nutrition, travel, film, music and outdoor recreation.
I currently work collaboratively with a native English/fluent Japanese speaker to ensure the highest quality translation.
I hope for ongoing positions and a client I can develop a good working relationship with.
