　馬車に乗っても、狭い車内が恐ろしかった。
　御者の隣に座る見習いコックに場所を変わってくれと言いたいほど、落ち着くことができない。
　心臓が痛いほど動いていた。

　短いはずの道のりが、やけに遠く感じる。

　城に辿り着いて、やっと馬車の中から解放されると心底安心した。

　しかし、荷物を抱えて扉のノブに手をかけたときだった。

　扉のノブに置かれたミズキの手。
　その上にザクロが手を重ねる。

Even in the carriage, he felt scary of the narrow space.
Mizuki was unable to cool down as he almost wanted to ask the apprentice of chef, who sit beside a coachman, to switch the seat for him.
His heart was beating hard, so it hurt him.

The way should be short, but he felt so long like crazy.

Once they reached to the castle and finally about to get out from the carriage, Mizuki was relieved from bottom of his heart.

However, that was when Mizuki’s hand touched the knob, holding his package.

Mizuki’s hand was placed on the knob.
Zakuro placed his hand on top of Mizuki’s hand.

　狭い車内で、ザクロの顔が近くなって、心臓が余計に早鐘を打った。
　逃げ出したいほどなのに、ノブを動かしてしまえばザクロに失礼になる。

　ただ、その鼓動が不快なものではないことに、ミズキ自身も少し驚いた。

ザクロ：「………………」

　ザクロの顔は真剣で、少し張り詰めている。

ミズキ：「………？」

ザクロ：「………その………」

ザクロ：「………すまなかった」

　たった一言。
　それを言うためだけに、真剣になって、あんな張り詰めた顔をしていたというのか？

In the narrow carriage, Zakuro’s face got close to Mizuki’s and Mizuki’s heart started beating even faster.
Mizuki almost wanted to escape from there, but it would be rude if he moved the knob.

However, Mizuki was surprised a bit of himself that the heart beating was nothing like uncomfortable.

Zakuro: “…….”

Zakuro’s face was serious and even a bit tensed.

Mizuk: “……?”

Zakuro: “ uh……”

Zakuro: “…. I am sorry.”

That was all he said.
Was he being so serious and tensed just to say that?

　ミズキが呆然としていると、ザクロはハッとした様子で重ねた手を引っ込める。
　そのことで呆気にとられたわけではなかったのだが、やはりどこかズレた行動をするザクロを見て、ミズキは少し笑ってしまった。

大臣：「王子！　探しておりましたぞ！　何故下男たちと一緒にリーンの村へ？！」

　馬車から出ると、やはり情報がどこかから回っていったらしく、大臣が血相を変えて走ってきた。

ザクロ：「今度の計画のための視察だ。結婚云々のことで話すより、よほど有意義な時間の使い方だろう」

While Mizuki was at a loss, Zakuro got a start and pulled his hand that was placed on Mizuki’s.
Mizuki was not at a loss because of that. But Mizuki could not help to smile a bit by seeing Zakuro’s off-point reaction.

Minister: “Prince! We’ve been looking for you! Why did you go to the Reen village with house boys?”

Looked like the information was leaked from somewhere. As soon as they got off the carriage, minister ran toward them with his pale face.

Zakuro: “I went to inspect the village for the plan. It is more productive way to spend time rather than talking about marriage.”

大臣：「こりゃ王子！　そのようなことを一国の王になろうというお方が………」

　大臣を軽くあしらいながら、ザクロは王宮のほうへと歩いていった。
　自分の領内すら満足に出歩くこともできない程度の自由が、裕福な暮らしとの引き換えなのだろうか。
一瞬ザクロが可哀想に思えたのだが、ミズキは首を振った。

　ザクロに同情することなんてない。

　意味もなく意地を張って、ミズキは下男の住居に戻った。
　真昼間だというのに、住居は何故か静まり返っていた。

Minister: “Oh my prince! You, who will heir this country, should not say such thing….”
As Zakuro treated minister lightly, he started walking to the royal palace.

マユミ：「そこの窓も随分と汚れているじゃない。全く、王宮の掃除ができていると油断したら、宿舎がこれだもの」

　何故かは知らないが、マユミが下男の住居にきているのだ。
　運悪く居合わせたフウがこき使われている。

ミズキ：（下男が住む場所にまで口出ししなくてもいいのに………メイド長も暇なんだな）

　ミズキはマユミに気付かれないよう、そっと足を出した。

Some people should’ve been back at this time.

He soon found out the reason once he entered the cafeteria.

Mayumi: “That window is dirty too. If I’m not paying enough attention just because the place’s cleanup is done, the domitory is like this.”

He didn’t know why, but Mayumi was visiting house boys’ dormitory.
Fu, who was unfortunately happened to be there, was being pushed around.

Mizuki: (she should stay out of house boy’s living place….. She must be bored.)

Mizuki took a step hoping Mayumi would not notice him.

　しかし、年季の入った床がミズキ程度の体重で軋んで、マユミはすぐにこちらを振り返る。
　見つかってしまったと、ミズキは心から後悔した。
　必要もないのに痩せることを考えてしまったほどだった。

マユミ：「ミズキ」

　すると案の定、背後からマユミの呼び止められる。
　ミズキは悪事を働いたわけでもないのにギクリとして、ぎこちなく振り返った。

ミズキ：「な、なんでしょう・・・？」

マユミ：「その紙袋から何かこぼれている気がするんだけど」

But, the old floor squeaked, taking upon Mizuki’s weight. And, Mayumi turned back immediately.

Mizuki regretted for he was noticed from bottom of his heart.
He even thought about losing his weight for nothing.

Mayumi: “Mizuki”

As he just thought, Mayumi called his name from his back.
Though he did not do anything wrong, Mizuki was startled and turned back awkwardly

Mizuki: “Yes, ma’am…?”

Mayumi: “I think you are spilling something from that bag.”

　ハッとして、自分の抱えている荷物を見る。
　卵の入った紙袋から、粘っこくて黄色い液体が染み出していた。
　男たちと争ったときに割れてしまったんだろうか。随分前からこの状態だったらしく、いくらかは既に乾いていた。

マユミ：「こぼしたであろう王宮の中を掃除しなさい。馬車の中もですよ」

ミズキ：「はい………」

He was surprised and looked at his package.
Sticky yellow liquid was leaking from the bag that has eggs in.
He wondered if he broke them when he was arguing with the guys. It looked like it’s been a while as some of the part had been already dried.

Mayumi: “Clean up the place you might drop it in the royal palace. And, the carriage, of course.”

こぼれた卵を見つけて、拭いて、車庫にしまわれたであろう馬車を探して………
　いや、その前に下男の食事を作るためにナツメを起こさなければならない。
　そういえば午後の仕事のことをまだ聞いていなかった。

ミズキ：（今日、休む時間はあるのかなー………）

　今日一日の終わりが見えず、ミズキは人知れずため息を吐いた。

First, he thought that he had to find where the egg spots are and wipe them, and then find the carriage, which probably put away in the shed…..
Oh no, even before that, he had to wake Natsume up to cook meal for house boys.
He did not know anything about the afternoon work yet.

Mizuki: (Do I have time to rest today at all? ……)

He sighed without being seen as he could not see the end of his day.

最後に私の意見を言いますと、
ＥＢＡＹのページでは、フオークが金色（色）をしている写真を巧妙に掲載してありました。金色のフオークは全く無いのにです。
金色のフオークの写真をたくさん見せていて、実際は金色（色）ではなかった。
これは、私にとっては、一種の詐欺行為に思えた。だから、購入者の私が大変怒っていたのです。

　確かに値切ってこいとは言われたが、タダというのは申し訳なかった。

Mizuki: “What… is this?”

Egg store owner: “I don’t need payment!”
Mizuki: “That’s not right!”
Even though he was told to negotiate, he felt bad that he was taking stuff for free.

　この人も生活がかかっているはずなのに、ただ『王子様』という存在を見ただけでこれだ。
　まるでこの卵二パックに店主の生活ではなく首がかかっているようだ。

ミズキ：「じゃあせめて半額！　半額は払わせろ！」

卵屋：「結構ですって！」

ザクロ：「ふむ、サービス精神は旺盛なようだな」

　ザクロがややズレたことに感心しながら、店を見渡す。

ザクロ：「では、王宮で使う卵は今度からここで仕入れるよう手配しよう」

卵屋：「！！　あ、ありがとうございます………？！」

This is his way of making his live. But, presence of “prince” made such difference.
It is as if his life, instead of his livelihood, depends on these 2 cartons of egg.

Mizuki: “I have to pay at least half! You should accept half!”
Egg store owner: “No, I don’t need it!”
Zakuro: “Well, the customer service seems excellent.”
Zakuro was impressed with off-point thing and looked around the store

Zakuro: “Then, I will arrange to order all eggs used in royal palace to this store.”

Egg store owner: “!! T..Thank you very much…. ?!”

　店主は嬉しいやら恐れ多いやらで混乱しているようだった。
　そんな亭主に半額を握らせ、ミズキとザクロは卵屋を後にする。

ミズキ：「いいんですか。村の小さな卵屋に王宮の全部の卵を任せても」

ザクロ：「お前たちが食べて生きているではないか。問題はないだろう。無駄に高い卵を買って毎日消費するよりは、それを給金にして人材を増やしたほうがいいだろう」

ミズキ：「無駄に高い卵、ねぇ」

The egg store owner seemed to be confused with joy and dread.
Mizuki made him take the half price of the eggs and left the store with Zakuro.

Mizuki: “Are you sure about that? To order all the egg used in royal palace to such a small village store. “

Zakuro: “You guys eat that egg and still alive. There shouldn’t be a problem. Money will be better spent for salary of personnel, instead of wasting on unnecessarily expensive egg every day.”

Mizuki: “Unnecessarily expensive egg, hum”

ザクロ：「極端に言えば、その卵を孵してニワトリの数を増やせば、その卵の希少価値が下がって少しは安くなるだろう。味の良い卵が安く手に入れば誰も文句は言うまい」

ミズキ：「そういうものなのかな………」
　ザクロは何か計画を立てているのだろうか？
　聞いてみようと口を開きかけたときだった。後ろから肩を掴まれ、ミズキは無理やり振り向かされる。

そこにいたのは、見覚えのある男たちだった。
確か、貧民街で暮らしていたとき、近所に住んでいた気がする。
青年：「よう、久しぶりだなぁ」

Zakuro: “In an extreme way, price of egg will go down as scarcity value goes down when they start hatching the egg and increase the number of hens. No one will complain if they can get good eggs at lower price.”

Mizuki: “I wonder …..”

When he was about to ask his question, opening his mouth, he was forced to turn back by someone who grabbed his shoulder from his back.

There are guys who look familiar to him.
He guessed that they are his neighbor when he used to live in the poor part of the town.
A young guy: “Hey, long time no see you.”

男性：「いきなりいなくなったと思ったら、王宮の小間使いってわけかい」

青年：「どういう手を使って入り込んだかは知らねぇが、随分と良い暮らしをしてんじゃねぇのか」

男性：「なぁ、昔の好(よしみ)だしよ、その食いモンをちょーっとばかし俺たちにくれたっていいだろ？」

　男の手がそろそろと卵の入った紙袋に伸びてくる。
　慌てて紙袋を引っ込めると、男たちは顔を顰(しか)めた。

男性：「なんだよ。つれねぇな」

ミズキ：「これは俺だけのお金じゃない。他の下男の………」

A guy: “You suddenly disappeared and now you became a maid at the royal palace.”

A young guy: “I don't know what trick you used. But, you seem like having good life there.”

A guy: “Why don’t you give us a little of the food you have for the sake of the old time?”

A guy extended his hand slowly to Mizuki's paper bag that has eggs in.
They frowned when Mizuki pulled his back.

A guy: “What's wrong with you?”

Mizuki: “This is not my money. But all of other maids….”

青年：「そいつら、お前が貧民街の出って知ってんのかよ」

ミズキ：「関係ないだろ！」

ザクロ：「全く、うるさいな」

　それまで黙っていたザクロが面倒臭そうにため息を吐いた。

　すると、ザクロはポケットに手を突っ込み、金貨を何枚か取り出す。

　そしてミズキの紙袋を掴もうと伸びていた手に、バラバラと落とした。

　男たちは目を丸くして、数枚の金貨を見詰めている。

ザクロ：「それでいいだろう。金貨の使い方がわからないわけではあるまい」

青年：「………っ！」

A young guy: “Do they know you are from a poor part of the town? “

Mizuki: “Shut up!”

Zakuro: “God, that is annoying.”

Zakuro, who was being quiet till now, sighed reluctantly.
Then, he reached his pocket and pulled out some gold coins.
He scattered the coins onto the hand that trying to grab Mizuki’s paper bag.
A young guy: “….Shit!”

　途端、男たちはその場から駆け出した。まるで逃げるようだ。
　自分の家来である下男どころか見知らぬ男にまで逃げられるとは、ザクロという王子はどれほど恐れられているのだろうか。
　話してみれば『自他ともに厳しい』そして『ある種の世間知らず』なだけである。

　世間知らずというより、庶民知らずというか。

ミズキ：「アンタなぁ、金で解決すればいいってもんじゃ………」

At that moment, guys started running from the scene as if they were getting away.
What kind of a man Zakuro is. He made scare away not only his own servants, but also guys who he has never seen. How terrifying he is.
When you speak to him, he is only “strict to others and himself” and “a kind of ignorant of the world”

Maybe he is ignorant of the general public rather than of the world.

Mizuki: “Hey, you cannot solve everything with money...”

ザクロ：「そのほうが手っ取り早いし、あの者たちも金貨を手にできて問題ないだろう。それにしても………今のはお前の知り合いか？」

ミズキ：「？　まぁ、一応はそうだけど………」

ザクロ：「浅はかな連中だ。付き合う友人は選べ」
ミズキ：「！」

　やはりザクロは、王族の人間だ。だからそんなことが言える。

ミズキ：「………」

Zakuro: “That’s a quick way and they should be happy to have some gold coins. Anyway…. Do you know them?”

Mizuki: “? Well, kind of…”
Zakuro: “Such shallow people. Pick your friends wisely.”

Mizuki: “!”

After all Zakuro is one of royal family. That’s why he can say such thing.

Mizuki: “…..”
