Talking to Tech In Asia, a TuneIn representative said:

"We are complying with Chinese government regulations to remove aspects of our service in China."

Further attempts to clarify how this all came about were met with silence over the weekend. We’ll update if we hear more from TuneIn.

The self-restriction means that, for example, any attempt to listen to BBC Radio 4 when located in China causes the app to redirect you (pictured above) to “a similar station” after saying that the station you wanted “is not available.” And so BBC Radio 4 now redirects to the state-approved Voice of the Straits (VOS) radio channel which runs state-sanctioned news relating to relations between mainland China and Taiwan. A victory for Net Nanny.

A great many other English-language stations are now also self-censored by TuneIn, including American public radio. These tend not to redirect as part of the new TuneIn restrictions, and instead fail to stream with a “station not available” notice.

One of the few things to now work in the app is state-run China Radio International (CRI) and random assortments of Chinese-language local radio. Bizarrely, many other local stations no longer work in the app – such as the English-language station Shanghai Love Radio, or the Chinese-language Shanghai FM 101.7. It’s all pretty screwed, with no apparent logic to it. All local radio already complies with strict media regulations, and so is inherently uncontroversial.

TuneIn’s tagline “Listen to the world” now rings pretty hollow after its kowtowing to an apparent call to geo-restrict its own app. Other radio and podcast streaming apps still work from China, as do the individual websites and web streams for most US and European radio stations. For now, at least.

Kickstart: “Only” incubator in Philippines with “existing strong ties” to community

Startup incubator Kickstart has launched in the Philippines last month, part of a recent spate of new accelerators that have set up shop in the country. It is now calling for submissions for startups who want to receive an investment.

Christian Besler, the incubator’s vice-president and community engagement head, bills Kickstart as “the only Incubator in the Philippines with existing strong ties to the local grassroot community.”

Explaining this, he says that Kickstart was part of the team that organized last year’s StartupWeekend Manila, the first such event in the country.

They received feedback from the startup community that there was hardly any local support network and access to funding from Filipino entrepreneurs were limited.

“The outcome of the 2011 Startup Weekend event was pretty overwhelming and led to the decision to build an institution capable of funding and mentoring emerging startups and founders,” he says.

The situation is slowly changing. Another incubator, IdeaSpace, launched in the country at around the same time as Kickstart, and aims to “jumpstart the creation of a Silicon Valley-like ecosystem in the Philippines”.

Other accelerators that have started recently include Wireless Wings, Launchgarage, and the UP Enterprise Center for Technopreneurship.

For Kickstart, they are planning to invest about 10M Pesos (US$250K) per startup, with exceptions made if warranted. They are starting off with 100M Pesos (US$2.5M) in deployable funds.

Startups are encouraged but not required to stay on premises, but that would depend on its stage of development and specific needs. Kickstart will also not focus on a particular set of industries, but “ rather on innovative and maybe also disruptive mobile and web solutions.”

The incubator is open to citizens and non-citizens alike, although they must be based in the country.

ナポレオン時代のもので、キハ黒塗りされています。

金銅で出来たバランスの良い竪琴風なデザインにの女王の半身像が表現され、

文字盤の周りの青銅の金具が女王の顔にまで繋がっています。

青銅の品質は高く、また、文字盤には白い琺瑯が施されています。

ブロンズの柱には上から下まで、大変流麗な装飾が施されています。

状態について：

時計の動作には問題がないのですが、鐘の音が引っかかってしまいうまく鳴りません。

小さなブラケットを鐘の舌(ぜつ)に取り付けています。そうしないとうまく時間を刻めません。

機構部分が見えるように、鐘を取り外した状態で写真を撮りました。ですが、鐘はちゃんとあります。

高さは５０cm。残念ながら、右側底部の薄板を失ってしまっています。写真を見て下さい。

時計に合うような鍵を所有しています。ですが、それ用かどうかは保証できません。
