室町時代末期、スケサダは工房で刀を作成していたため、スケサダの銘を名乗る刀工は数多く、様々な俗名を持つスケサダ作品が見られます。
中でも抜きん出た出来の良さで筆頭に上げられるのがヨザエモンスケサダで、カツミツ、キヨミツと並びビゼンの最上工として知られています。
本作は、テンモンのヨザエモンノジョウスケサダの銘とはやや異なり、後銘の可能性が有る、作風から同人の工房による作刀と思われ、ヨザエモンノジョウスケサダの典型的な作風をお楽しみいただけます。

In the late Muromachi era, Sukesada made the sword in his workshop. So, the swordsmiths claming themselves Sukesada are so many that the works by Sukesada has diverse secular names.
Among them, there are exquisitely well made swordsmith. His name is Yozaemonsukesada. He is well known as the best swordsmith in Bizen region as well as Katumitu and Kiyomitu.
This work is different from the signature of Yozaemonnozyousukesada in Tenmon era. It is assumed that the signature was made later and this one was made by his workshop in terms of the style. You can enjoy the typical style of Yozaemonnojousukesada.
