★背景★
先方のメーカーと新製品について、日本総代理店の本契約を控えています。

メーカーが新しい製品パッケージを開発中で、当初は、この新パッケージをメーカーが完成させてから、本契約に移る予定でした。

当初、12月に新パッケージが完成する見込みでしたが、かなり予定よりも遅れており、恐らく2月中旬～下旬にならないと完成しないとのこと。

一方で、この製品を来年日本で開催されるDesign Tokyo展に出展させたいと考えており、この出展審査が12月中から開始されるため、パッケージの完成を待たずに、契約だけ先に進めるのが良いものと考えています。

これを踏まえて、今回の依頼文の翻訳をお願い致します。

この展示会には事前審査があり、今月からその審査が始まります。
展示会には日本総代理店として出展を申し込む必要があるため、貴方との本契約が必要です。

パッケージの完成が遅れているのなら、先に本契約は進めませんか？
僕はこの展示会へ絶対申し込むべきと考えています。

I understand that it is taking longer to finalize the new package.
As a matter of fact, I was thinking about displaying this nail clipper at the “Design Tokyo 2014,” which will be held in July 2014. This is one of the most important exhibitions in Japan.

This exhibition has a preliminary review of products, which will start this month.
We will need to apply for the exhibition as a sole agency, and that will require us to have an actual contract with you.

Albeit the delay in finalizing the new package, shall we sign a contract first?
I strongly think that we should definitely apply for the abovementioned exhibition.
