東芝と石巻市、東北電力は、経済産業省が今年2月に公募した「2011年度スマートコミュニティ導入促進事業」に石巻市で申請していたスマートコミュニティ構築計画が採択されたと発表した。
スマートコミュニティ導入促進事業は、復興フェーズにある地域で、災害に強いまちづくりとして、再生可能エネルギーの活用を中心としたスマートコミュニティを構築するための事業。

Toshiba, Ishinomaki City and the Tohoku Electric Power announced that their plan to establish a “Smart Community” was accepted by Ishinomaki City, which the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry had been calling for entries for the “2011 Smart Community Introduction Promotion” in February 2012.
