It is fine without 'pieces' or 'units' because in English, the collective nouns can be dropped if they are implied at the end.
For a more clear example, the full sentence would be 'I would like to purchase 60 (units/pieces of [product])' and 'please send 30 (units/pieces of [product]) each to separate addresses'. Here, I chose to leave the part in the parentheses out because we do not know the name of the product, which makes it harder to decide as the translator whether 'units' or 'pieces' would be more appropriate.

Oh... I have never realized such a point before... I see, it is a rather better idea to omit a word of the unit when the original text doesn't give a name of the product. I will keep it in mind for next translations. Thank you for your kindly reply to my question :-)
It's because in English, we don't use counting nouns like 個 or 匹 that often, so they often get dropped in translation. I hope that I have been of help!
