When the project was presented to Gates, he was highly skeptical that they would be able to complete it on time. Despite his reservations, however, Gates gave it the 'green light' and authorized additional resources so they could try. The team then took themselves off to an isolated part of the Microsoft campus. They declared the area the 'Microsoft Enterprise Zone' and worked on developing the application in isolation from the rest of the company.
