彼はクラスの中で目立つほど体が小さかったからクラス中では障害者の一人であると認識されていた。しかし彼は私たちとは体の大きさ以外では何も変わらない。彼は人並みに友達もいたし、いじめられたりしているところをあまり見なかった。彼は周りの人間に理解された存在だった。しかし彼と一緒に学校で歩いているときや、外で遊んでいるときに視線が気になることは多かった。彼だけでなく、自分も指を指されているような感じはしていた。彼に障害があることは理解していたが、他の誰よりも障害者として扱わなかった。

His body was outstandingly small in the class, so everyone in the class recognized him as disabled. However, besides the size of body, there is no difference between us. He had friends like everyone else, and I hardly saw him being bullied. His existence was well understood by others. However, when I walked with him in school or playing with him outside, I felt people we were being watched. Not only him, but I felt I was talked behind my back as well. I was aware he was disabled, but I never treated him as disabled than anybody else.
