今は、妻と長女の言い争いを止められない無力な自分を感じないように仕事で頑張っている。昔も今も穏やかな自 分を保つために、争いごとから逃げていることに気づいた。それはA自身も両親のように争いに対する上手な問題解決が出来ないのではないか、という怖 さでもある。しかし、いつまでもこの方法で逃げてばかりいたら、自分の妻も子供も同じように問題解決する力が持てず、状況は変わらないだろう。

Now in order to avoid feeling helplessness not being able to stop quarrels between his wife and daughter, he works hard at work. Now he is doing his best at work in order not to feel the helplessness that comes from inability to stop the quarrels between his elder daughter and his wife. He noticed that in an attempt to stay calm himself he has been avoiding quarrels in the past and is doing it now. This could be the result of fear that he might lack the ability to resolve conflicts properly just as his own parents could not do this. However, if he continues to always run away from the situation in this way, most likely his own wife and children will not be able to gain the ability to solve their problems and nothing will change.
