・ギーク学生にエンジニアとしての職業体験を提供する
・毎月の滞在費と渡航費をHDEが負担する
・共通言語としての英語が堪能であること
・日本語はできなくてよい(むしろできないほうがよい。日本語で話してしまうので。)
・期間は2ヶ月〜3ヶ月くらい

はじめての外国人インターン受け入れを翌月に控えた2012年12月、「GIP」という長い名前のチームが組成されました。社内ではプロジェクトチームのこともインターンシッププログラムのことも、GIPと呼ばれていました。初期メンバーはCTO/CEO、エンジニア・バックオフィスから数名ずつと私。最初は外国人学生の受け入れに関する相談タイム/共有タイムがメインでしたが、すぐにセブ送りの選抜など、英語トレーニングについての議論なども始まりました。
