Fixed-point observation: How Tokyo has changed.
This black-and-white photo shows Shinjuku, the sub-center of the capital, in 1983. The construction of the Metropolitan Government had not started yet, and the light seeping through gaps between buildings drew lines on the extensive ground. This empty lot appeared in the Hollywood movie "Bad News Bears" as a place where a Little League game is played. The construction started in 1988, 5 years after the movies, and was completed in 1991.

Fixed point observation: how Tokyo has changed
The monochromatic picture was taken at Shinjuku subcenter, at that time it was called subcenter, in 1983 (Showa 58th).
It was before the construction of the Tokyo Metropolitan Office, and there were lines of sunlight coming through the buildings in this extensive site. I remember that there was a shoot of a Hollywood movie called "The Bad News Bears" here, a movie about Little league baseball. 5 years after, in 1988, the construction started and it was finished in 1991.
